TOUR TOTAL - the first office building in the new quarter Europacity

The immediate vicinity of Berlin central station is the new location for the German headquarters of the oil company TOTAL. It is the first office building of the new city quarter Europacity, with CA Immo acting as project developer and investor. The scheduled completion of the building took place in September 2012. Barkow Leibinger Architekten, Berlin, developed the architecture for the green building.

TOUR TOTAL has a base with a two-story colonnade along the north facade and the main entrance located in the south. The tower is designed for functional reasons in a narrow and long shape. Thus an optimal building depth is accomplished and requirements for modern office work are met. Communication in the building is made easier and sunlight can enter the tower by two sides. The structure of the building was designed with a sharp bend, giving the TOUR TOTAL an individual identity.

The facade was designed in a workshop process with representatives of the Berlin Senate, the local district, external consultants, architects, tenants and CA Immo. A strong vertically three-dimensional facade is one of the results of this planning process.

The 17-storey building is planned as an environmentally sustainable building, aiming for a DGNB silver certification. Construction of the 69-meter skyscraper started in July 2010, it was completed in time and on budget in September 2012.

Within walking distance are the Federal Chancellery, the German Bundestag and Federal Government Departments. About 80 Shops can be found in Berlin central station alone. Whether Vapiano, Sarah Wiener in the museum Hamburger Bahnhof, or original Berlin curry sausage from street vendors: A variety of restaurants offer visitors and residents a wide range of possibilities for every taste.

Due to its location TOUR TOTAL is easy to reach, whether by bike, car, bus or S-regional or bullet train. The building is embedded in one of the most interesting urban development areas of the German capital. It is especially attractive because of its central location, the accessibility by local and long distance mass transit, the thriving artistic community surrounding the renowned museum Hamburger Bahnhof.
